The dream of owning a pet boutique started with vacationing in Saugatuck-Douglas over 15 years ago. Once Randy and Anna bought a home in Douglas, they immediately started dreaming about owning a business and retiring here. Over many drives back to Chicago, Randy and Anna had lengthy conversations about how the pet boutique would look, what items they would carry, and what kind of events they would host.  Thanks to their parents and good friends, they were able to open Lakeshore Pet Boutique in October 2019.  

Prior to that vision becoming a reality, Randy devoted her professional life to the mental health field.  As a licensed clinician, Randy worked her way from a case manager to vice president of operations. Anna was a first responder for over 20 years. Starting as a firefighter, it did not take long for her to realize that she really wanted to be a police officer.  While she enjoyed those years in law enforcement, Anna recently retired and is happy to be living full-time in Douglas. Needless to say, Randy and Anna’s professions were immensely stressful which makes them value the happiness that comes with owning a pet store. Their mission is to make it easy for pet parents to spoil their cats and dogs with quality, unique, safe products and health-conscious foods.
